Introduction

The TAO concept can equally well be applied to other topics, such as Energy Efficient Design. By combining Design e-learning courses with Energy Codes courses, users can be guided to energy efficient solutions to code problems, rather than to designs that simply meet code requirements.

Alternatively, TAO for Energy Efficient Design could be configured as a stand-alone implementation, with Design Experts on call, and with Design-specific resources.

The courses in the TAO for Energy Efficient Design Classroom will enable you to learn the features of energy efficient design as applied to Lighting, HVAC Systems, Building Shell, and numerous other building systems. In these courses we cover modern design techniques, providing not just raw information but also design examples illustrating the concepts. We also review the pros and cons of the design choices and provide guidelines on when and when not to apply them.

Courses are divided into modules and modules into lessons. While individuals new to this field will see a value in participating in all the modules, you can also go directly to the module of interest. You can leave and return to these lessons as much as you want. We will track completed lessons. You can see this information by clicking on Your History on the left.

The courses are shown on the left. Click on any course to go to the the module introduction and to see the lessons that are part of the module. Interactive exercises are part of each lesson, and you can participate in a review at the end of the module to consolidate your knowledge.
